The Sound of Sweet

two photos side by side. One has flowers. The other has the same colors of the flowers in twist of ice cream

If we eat the flowers, like the birds do, will we say sweet words, as sweet as the birds sing?

Some flowers are poisonous and deadly, like the daffodil. Don’t be fooled by its cheerful and upbeat look. Like that two-faced frenemy you had, back when you were naive, daffodils are pure toxins parading as your pal.

To sweeten our being, to sing like a canary, and to be in fine feather, perhaps we should stay away from toxicity and keep company with gentle petals, often full of good medicine.

Here is a list of edible flowers:

Marjoram . Thyme . Hyssop . Bergamot . Sage . Mint . Chive . Dill . Basil . Thyme . (yes, these herbs have flowers) . Hollyhock . Lavender . Daisy . Rose . Borage . Chamomile . Saffron . Courgette . Rocket . Fennel . Fuchsia . Sunflower . Dandelion . Primrose . Evening Primrose . Hibiscus . Tiger . Lily . Rosemary . Clover . Nasturtium . Viola . Marigold

Don’t forget the cherry blossoms 🌸🌸🌸
